poem- light

This is an absolutely stunning poem. I just had to share it.

Shawn L. Bird

She is light.

She glows with gentle radiance

that touches everyone she meets with her warmth.

She is peace.

In her calm presence you are comforted

simply by being near her serene heart.

She is whole.

She does not need anything from anyone,

for she has found the font of her strength within herself.

She is love.

      1. Well of course I don’t know Aibhe like you do. Actually, I just realised I dont know her at all, only through what you have told me. The myths are very quiet about her. She certainly is your light. She has been there for you every time you needed her. I suspect she would scorn being thought of as a Goddess. Still, I would think she is no less deserving than any of them.

      2. LOL! Well you’re right, she certainly wouldn’t be up for being thought of as a goddess. But I could probably get away with playfully arguing that as an older sister, she most likely served that role a long long time ago when we were children in the same time. 🙂

Ah I hope sometime you can meet Ailbhe yourself. She has always been family to me. For sure once I am done next week with passing my exam to graduate I can write you about all sorts of things we’ve all been up to. Like, I have recently met several of Ailbhe’s nine! Yes the myths particularly about Ailbhe are pretty sparce–as she says, the positive to it is that there is less misinformation out there to believe as the truth before meeting her. 🙂 I just haven’t had space to share much about anything, or do more than live day by day which I know you can relate to with what’s happening with Carys. You are both in my thoughts all the time, I hope you know that. Have you seen any improvement in her ability to tolerate sensations and new environments? Staying hopeful for the both of you.

      3. Ok now you’re bringing those hot pointy tears to prickle at my eyes! You are not the one at fault for not staying in touch, I am. You are one of the most genuine caring people I have ever met! Carys is definitely showing signs of improvement, it is so wonderful to see, but a lot more work is required. We are so lucky that Carys has a particularly good teacher this year who is opening doors for us we could never have imagined. I am very happy. It has been a strange year for sure, and I have definitely learned a lot. I hope that one day I will be lucky enough to meet Aiibhe too… she is a very special person, just like you, but then you are cut from the same cloth after all. I hope I will get to meet you one day too. Xxx

      4. You’re too kind, Ali! That’s so wonderful to hear about Carys. I’m so glad you have such amazing people to support and advocate for her and help her achieve all she can and meet her needs. I too always felt very blessed when someone like that came into my life, I called them allies growing up because my family and I could count on them to stand up for me and come up with insightful adaptations so I could succeed. 🙂 Anyway, thanks so much for your words, I am very moved. I am certain we will meet someday. If my dad and I plan our trip for this year, it will probably be sooner than later. I hope so because we’re such great friends online and I’d love to finally meet you in person!
